TODData
TODData was a six-part mini-biography of Todd by Ruth Rundgren (Todd's
mom) as told to Bill Bricker. It contained photos, artwork, and stories
which were never published anywhere else.
It's now out-of-print, but here's a sampling of what it contained:
|
Part 1 - The Spark of Life.
Six previously unpublished photos of TR from 6
months old to Junior High. The amazing story of his birth, plus
insights to the development of his interest in music.
Part 2 - If At First You Don't Succeed.
Concert posters and a rare photo of
Woody's Truck Stop. Photos and bio info of Todd's immediate family.
Includes a pic of Todd with Liv Tyler at about age 10 when it was
still believed she was his daughter.
|
|
|
Part 3 - Birth of the Nazz.
Cover art by Carson Van Osten. The story of the
Nazz from inception to demise. Four more pages from Mom R's scrapbook
with a backstage photo and a letter from Todd.
Part 4
TR's continued bio covering the years 1969-71. Definitive coverage of
The American Dream.
|
|
|
Part 5 - Something/Anything?
Coverage of the early productions and TR's second
and third solo efforts leading to the big time. The scrapbook provides
a slice of life from 1972 in which Todd is considered one of Esquire
magazine's most influential people of the year.
Part 6 - The Wizard.
Her story told, Ruth wraps up her version of TR's Life and
Times and bids farewell. Includes excerpts from the extremely rare
Rundgren Guide and reviews of the productions of the year 1973.
