I'm looking for someone
Send mail to if you have information or are looking for someone yourself.Debbie Baratz looking for Beth Kurtz
A friend and I have been wondering for a long time about Beth Kurtz, who was one of the original founders of the Utopia Times. She lived in Upper Darby, PA, and we met in the late 70s (maybe) or 1980 and we had a smallish gathering of Todd and Utopia fans in '80 or '81 in a park in Philly. Ruth Rundgren was there, and a number of fans. I have some copies of photos from the gathering, which we called the "first-ever Utopia Convention". This included a large banner that a couple of us hand-painted, and we hung it on the bridge in that park. The banner said "True Star Productions, Bringing Together Your Adventures in Utopia". I have photos, or actually copies of the photos. I was one of the people who helped organize the gathering, along with others. I also made "True Star Productions" t-shirts.We posted some of these photos on Facebook several years ago, but didn't get any response. There is a picture of what Beth looked like in those days, and myself as well. I know who took some of the photos, but we were not really friends so I don't know if should mention her name here.
I hope someone can help!

Anybody seen my old friend Jim Kontaxis from Queensland Australia? We met in California for the last Utopia Concert in 94 and he visited me in Virginia but I have lost track of him lately. mark_bagley@rocketmail.comThanks,

I attended the Todd get-together in 1987, and someone gave me a recording of "God And Me," which at the time I thought was my Last Chance. If anyone would like to correspond and reminisce, give me a hello.

From: Kari Pearson Subject: Roxy shows 1978 and 1979 Date: Sat, 14 May 2005 02:17:05 -0700I attended all 28 performances those two years and met a couple called BRUCE and MARIE the first year, who lived in West LA and attended a lot of those shows, both years. (At one show they gave Todd a bird!) I never knew either's last name but we kept in touch for a while and nearly went up to San Francisco together the second year. We last saw each other in the late 70s/early 80s (in line for the Clash, and I was thanked for introducing them to The Only Ones), then in 1983 I got a phone call from Bruce, now living in Long Beach I think (on a boat?) I wasn't able to speak long and took his number, then immediately misplaced it. By the time I found it (a few years later!) it was no longer valid. I'm back in LA at the moment, although I've spent most of the past two decades in the UK. Would love to get back in touch!

Subject: Janine From NJ
Janine,We met at one of Todd's solo shows. It was at Toad's Place in New Haven CT on 8/1/02. I always regretted not asking you for an email address or phone number.
We seemed to really click that evening, with our mutual interest in Todd, as well as playing music ourselves. If you remember me fondly, as I remember you, send me a line. If not, well...

Subject: Long lost friends
Way back when the Nexus published Utopia Times, I did alot of buying and selling Todd items and all the while creating some very nice friendships. Now that I moved 5 miles south of Lancaster, Pa. in the small village of Willow Street, Pa. I have lost touch with these people. I would very much like to hear how you are and what you're up to now. These people are David Gay from Tennessee, Merf Sohmers (did I spell that correctly?) from Connecticutt, Liz Wilkinson (I believe) from the great state of Texas and Bob Stanislowski from San Fransisco. I can't forget about Deron Bissett from Austin (Mr. Information). I learned alot from you all and although our friendships were through letters in the mail or a conversation over the phone, they were meaningful. Please drop me a line if you see this and tell how you're doing. Contact me at ccolsonjr@comcast.net or call me at (717)464-8800 I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Subject: Looking for someone/anyone!
I am looking for one or more TR fans here in the Jacksonville area. I know there has to be someone besides me here, because he does and has played concerts here! I am looking forward to his concert in April, and would love to meet up with some others going. I thought it might be a little early to start asking around, but what the heck! CMNDCR@AOL.COM.
Lookin' for Lenny
When I was living in Philly in the late 80's the only place to buy CD's was at the CD store on Lancaster Ave, Ardmore, I think. Anyway, the guy who ran the store was named Lenny, esteemed Todd fan and all around good egg. I lost track of him when we moved from the area in '90. Lenny if yer out there, or if you know where he is, give me a shout!
Rick Andrews, do you remember me? I was your 15 year old Assistant Manager at Record Town in Northline Mall in 1973. We've been to so many Todd shows, but never together and we lost touch years ago. Write me if you want to catch up sometime. waltonowalker@hotmail.com.
Anyone from Austin, TX get-together - 1987I am looking for anyone who attended the Todd get-together we had in Austin, Texas in 1987. The only names I recall are Mary and Alan Elsen and a red-head named Melissa who we called "Lizzy-Strata" and an awesome woman from Houston named "Mott". I had moved back to NY in Aug 1987 and lost touch with them, but am now living in the south/midwest again and would love to hear from them. Thanks!
Mike from England, this is Sara from New York. We met last year at the Abbey Road show in Atlantic City and at Toad's Place in Connecticut. You were on a Todd vacation and I was celebrating my birthday. I guess we should have exchanged last names. I would be so pleased to spend some time to hear a little talk about what's been on your mind. Please drop me a line. Thanks, Sarajane from Chester, New York
I'm looking for "Al K. Trazz," a member of a Houston,TX band called the Plastic Idols from the late 70's. I have recordings of them and I'm trying to get permission to put it out. The other band members have lost contact with him. I'm told he is a Todd Rundgren fanatic. Is there any way you could post a message that we are looking for him?
