I speak of the covers, productions and side projects of Todd and and his fellow Utopians. Scott Sheppard has an incredible resource list that provides us with most of the information that we need to embark on such a quest. It's found at
Each year, beginning with 1969, is selected and a week or so taken to review any projects for that year. For years that have a bit more output, the review period will be extended to a couple of weeks.
This was a joint project of the awizard list and the alt.music.todd-rundgren newsgroup, as well as any others who wish to submit reviews. Selected reviews will be posted to the TR Connection. The main criteria for selection will be that reviews are more or less complete analyses of a work or several works, rather that a few comments. If your review is not to be made available for re-publishing, please indicate in the body of your message.
This might be a good opportunity to seek out some of these admittedly rare releases, and expose yourself to some new old sounds. Or perhaps an opportunity to replace those aging Grand Funk and Badfinger LPs with fresh CD copies. And some of the hard-to-find items may be available through Toby's Silver Moon Music, so don't give up if you can't find a particular release in the used record stores. Check with Toby!
It might also be relevant to examine outside projects in the context of Nazz/TR/Utopia releases during the same year.
As always, I'm happy to accept reviews of any TR project, be it music (official release and boots), concerts, video, whatever. Keep 'em coming to me at !
And don't despair if you miss the review period for your favorite year. I'll be accepting reviews indefinitely for the TR Connection.
