Largest Collection On The Globe of Todd Rundgren Audio Rarities

Greetings Audio Toddheads! Warren H. (Atlanta, GA. USA) here. Tony Rogers and I have transferred our entire audio collections over to my home in 2008. We (Tony & I) thought my circumstances (A 62 year old, single, IT specialist/Audio Editor guy in Atlanta with lots of Todd Rundgren history/archival collecting since 1972) would be ideal for taking over the 'Library' in all its glory. And, so an 'incorporation' of his and my colossal collections takes place! I now curate this ‘museum’. And I plan to share much of this, just as Tony did all these decades. And yes, I’m somewhat of a Todd Rundgren Historian. I have been 'following' Todd extensively (in all forms of media) ever since I saw (and met) him here at an Historic Show at Atlanta’s Fabulous Fox Theatre on November 8 1973. So I know 'enough'. Please note that I say share my enthusiasm. No buying or selling. Nor will a penny exchange hands. Never.
I want to say a big THANK YOU in advance to all of you who are going to help and have helped with this so far. I’ll do my best. Write me anytime. twarrenh@gmail.com
Just scroll down to the items listed below by period and click on any year to browse the collection.
We've also recently been working in collaboration with my friend Frank Bubnick and his well known vast quality collection (you can visit his list by clicking on his name). Some of his editing is unequaled anywhere.
And some late breaking neat news : I believe most of you are familiar with the JEMS group. A bunch of super collectors for many bands’ audience recordings (predominate though are Yes and Springsteen). Well known for their re-mastering prowess and quality. They’ve been in contact with me for a couple of years, and in December of last year offered me all their (originals) Todd Rundgren Collection. They just didn’t have the resources or the time for refining anything by Todd Rundgren. It just wasn’t on their timeline. I received all their cassettes (60) within a few weeks! Most of them are MASTER tapes from the original Taper. They will be sending me all their DATs and Reels at a later date. I will be listing all these recordings here, as I digitally transfer them. With this addition of the JEMS collection I believe these Todd Rundgren Archives are easily the largest collection on the planet.
How do we share you ask? Well, Just for what it's worth, we really don't do the 'snail mail trading' (by postal) much these days. So, if you would like me to share or trade any of this 'Catalog' with you, it would be more convenient/easiest to share in the form of on-line file transfer. Generally, in .flac format, compressed to .zip or .rar for smoother/faster quality exchange [depending upon the size of the audio file(s) we might be exchanging of course]. Hope that all makes sense. I can work with you on 'all that'. Again, write me, and then we'll come to an agreement of sorts. Please keep in mind, that anything that is 'Official', or 'Professionally Marketed', or still available for 'Retail' purchase is not of consideration. Nor is there any monetary means of transaction.
I do not have any rights to, and I am not open for sharing any material that may be listed below that has been commercially or officially released and is still available retail. (It may be listed below for collection listing purpose only). I do not take or give any money for a single item below either. I do not take away any proceeds that are due to Todd Rundgren, family, friends, business or supporting/associated musicians. If it is ROIO (recording of independent origin), then I'm open to share. Support the artist! Go buy his stuff where and whenever available! Speaking of which; an ultimate place to find/buy Todd's releases and imports & rarities is TRBAZAAR. Check it out! If Scott ain't got it, nobody does...just about! And of course many past official CD/DVD releases and proprietary Todd merchandise is readily available for ordering on-line at The Toddstore. So check them out for sure.
I like to give credit where credit is due too. So please forgive me if I do not credit the right persons involved in making these recordings available/possible for all these years.
I’ll start a ‘Credits’ list here below, and maintain it on down the road. Like to make sure all the folks involved are appreciated. For now, let me go ahead and thank some folks that have really been instrumental in these archives (no particular order): Tony Rogers (of course), Mike Armes, Jeff Gauss 'Weavil' (RIP), Frank Bubnick, Paul Russo, Hiroshi Kawauchi, Istvan Berzenczei, Sara Kritzer, Barry Beiseigel, Marc Linowitz, Rob 'Lockjaw' Levangie, Roger Steel, Mike Adrian, Gil Ireland-Ashley, Jim Farrell, Dale Michelsohn, Gary Urwin, Don B., Bob Stanislowski (RIP), Micheal B., Jon Risen, Jon Babcock, Mark Wilpolt, Tom Cannon, Lin Sprague, Joe Franks, Chris 'Razz', Geoff (& Rick) Laurenzo, Ted Moon, Richard Roys, Storm Hunter, Moz (Mike), Sohta Fujito, David Skye, Allen Law, Matt Walsh, Kevin Lewis, Doug Ford, Dave Knife, JEMS, Jared Houser, Gene Poole, 'Elegymart', Gail Artsgard, Victor Baissait, Connor Payne and players to be named later. Special thanks to Roger Linder for providing this page space for us for decades. Let's Rock!
BTW, I call this group of people 'My Cartel'. However, I have given the group a Media name: F451 Media (as in 451 Farenheit). It is not a brand name, for nothing of mine is for sale or has been sold EVER. It is a logo for these dedicated Todd Rundgren Collectors , which most of been doing this since the early 90s (and even earler). Our logo is:

2/27/02 KASIM SULTAN ZIG'S ALEXANDRIA VA SOUNDBOARD (FROM MARC LINOVITZ) 72:05
Date Added:3/17/2002
Track List: DONT HOLD ME BACK. AFRAID TO BE HIMSELF. SOMETIMES LOVE IS A DANGEROUS THING. SET ME FREE. ALONE. THE ONE SURE THING. BEFORE SHE WAS GONE. BACK ON THE STREET. CLICHE'. THERE GOES MY INSPIRATION. IM LOOKING THROUGH YOU. THIS MUST BE LOVE. ONE WORLD. ACROSS THE UNIVERSE.
Note:This is an absolutely perfect, I said perfect recording thru the board w/ permission by Marc-Kat dazzles with versions of Alone, and does a better job (in my opinion) than current Todd on Inspiration, Cliché and One World-remember Kaz did sing double lead w/ Todd on Inspiration. If you want to know where the man is today-this is your stop. Top flight recording here-Kaz w/ a guest guitarist on some tunes.
6/12/02 DALLAS BRONCO BOWL CANYON CLUB DAT (BRUCE DAVIS) 64:09/38:48
Date Added:7/10/2002
Track List:CD ONE: LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. CLICHE'. I DONT WANT TO TIE YOU DOWN. LYSISTRADA. TEXAS CONDOM ADVENTURES. THERE GOES MY INSPIRATION. SONG OF THE VIKING. IT WOULDNT HAVE MADE ANY DIFFERENCE. TOO FAR GONE. COMPASSION. FREE MALE AND 21. CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS?. TODD CALLS REX. BANG ON THE UKE DAILY. HUNTING JOKE. CD TWO: I SAW THE LIGHT (BOSSA). INFLUENZA (B). YOUVE GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY. ONE WORLD. THE WHEEL. HAWKING. A DREAM GOES ON FOREVER (B)
Note:My good friend Bruce chips this good recording in from the solo gig in Dallas-there is some chat but not too bad- the only probs of sounds really relate to the hall not having the piano or the Bossa mr3 stuff loud enough. Piano (now to it once a night) was not that bad-not great but no real big clunkers...a few stops but this is the bd show and the crowd sings to him all night. Vocals are nice especially on Hawking-pretty standard set-Inspiration and Too Far usually don’t sneak in that much anymore...this is nice. Bruce does another fine job on this one. Oh yeah-the condom story is funny as well as his actual cell phone call to his son after his minor league game just ended...all in all a good show...~ Tony
6/16/02 A WALK DOWN ABBEY ROAD HONOLULU BLAISDALE ARENA AUDIENCE
Date Added:5/18/2004
Track List:CD ONE: A HARD DAYS NIGHT. DAY TRIPPER. RAIN. HELLO ITS ME (6/8). HELP. GO ALL THE WAY. ALL BY MYSELF. TAXMAN. BAD TIME. IM YOUR CAPTAIN/CLOSER TO HOME. FOR NO ONE. SAILING. RIDE LIKE THE WIND. EYE IN THE SKY. AND I LOVE HER. SUNSHINE OF YOUR LOVE. ELEANOR RIGBY. WHITE ROOM CD TWO: BACK IN THE USSR. NORWEIGEN WOOD. IF I FELL. IVE JUST SEEN A FACE. NO REPLY. HERE THERE AND EVERYWHERE. YOUVE GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY. WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER. EIGHT DAYS A WEEK. TICKET TO RIDE. I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND. BIRTHDAY. REVOLUTION. GOLDEN SLUMBERS/CARRY THAT WEIGHT/THE END.
Note:Well here is the Eric Carmen thing...problem is my copy does skip a bit in places-the recording was average...some yap present but the show has a real jam session vibe..The middle part is an unplugged segment which evidently didn’t survive these shows… but I don’t know why - it seemed to work ok here...Todd dominates the show but the bck vcs on this show were really ragged in places...Jack Bruce/Todd really cooked on the Cream stuff (before the fallout)..Real nice to have this to see what went down -glad someone did record it for sure...Thanks to Jeff for getting this to me...~ Tony
6/19/02 AUSTIN TX THE BACKYARD AUDIENCE (FROM JOHN HUGHES) 53:55
Date Added:7/27/2002
Track List:LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. CLICHE. THERE GOES MY INSPIRATION. PLANE STORY/LYSISTRADA. I DONT WNAT TO TIE YOU DOWN. SONG OF THE VIKING. COMPASSION. FREE MALE AND 21. BANG ON THE UKE DAILY. I SAW THE LIGHT. ONE WORLD. HAWKING
Note:This was passed my way by ‘The Who man’ - John H...the recording is an average audie that is clear enough to hear what’s up but really lacks somewhat in clarity possibly due to the house sound system-if you were there, you’d like this-it really is a decent performance and the piano clinkers aren’t too bad-all in all real good for a first night esp considering the flight in from HI to get there. Recd for those who were there (or are curious). But so far the Dallas is better sound wise.~ Tony
6/29/02 A WALK DOWN ABBEY ROAD LOS ANGELES THE GREEK THEATER RECORDED BY LALO NERN (EDITED/PROCESSED:LIN SPRAGUE) 78:33/60:29
Date Added:7/27/2002
Track List:CD ONE: A HARD DAYS NIGHT. DAY TRIPPER. RAIN. OPEN MY EYES. HELLO, ITS ME. TAXMAN. BAD TIME. CLOSER TO HOME. FOR NO ONE. SAILING. RIDE LIKE THE WIND. EYE IN THE SKY. AND I LOVE HER. GAMES PEOPLE PLAY. SUNSHINE OF YOUR LOVE. ELEANOR RIGBY. WHITE ROOM. CD TWO: NORWEGIAN WOOD. THINGS WE SAID TODAY. IF IF FELL. IVE JUST SEEN A FACE. HERE THERE AND EVERYWHERE. YOUVE GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY. HERE COMES THE SUN. WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS. WE CAN WORK IT OUT. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER. EIGHT DAYS A WEEK. TICKET TO RIDE. I FEEL FINE. I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND. BIRTHDAY. MY GENERATION (FOR JOHN). BACK IN THE USSR. REVOLUTION. GOLDEN SLUMBERS. CARRY THAT WEIGHT. THE END.
Note:Here is a fab sounding example of this year’s offering-band is Todd, Mark Farner, Chris Cross, AP, Jack Bruce, Godfrey Townshend (again), Steve Murphy, John Beck. Great sound here- the whole thing about Todd not there, then yes there...the promoters really screwed this thing up by not leaving the Todd with the core folks...Carmen drops out-now Todd’s doing much more of them...kind of like the Ringo part II huh? Show is good-hell you couldn’t ask for better songs to play-nice mixture of the better stuff from last year and new stuff-Todd sings I’ve Just Seen A Face...the format is like the Japanese tour but instead the solo works are mixed among the Beatles tunes and stand up well-Todd says a bit about his pal the Ox before the band play My Generation-w/ Todd really wailing vocally on it..word had it that Todd was to tour with Entwistle possibly later this year....what a bummer...anyhow-this is recommended for sure-great recording by Lalo, great tweeks by Lin (as usual)- ESSENTIAL-you go Mr. Lin! Thanks!~ Tony
8/9/02 HERSHEY PA STAR PAVILION AUDIENCE(JOEL KONIKOW) 75:02
Date Added:10/17/2002
Track List:LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. HAMMER IN MY HEART. CLICHE'. HIT ME LIKE A TRAIN. IM LOOKING AT YOU BUT IM TALKING TO MYSELF. BUFFALO GRASS. PARALLEL LINES. HELLO ITS ME. LOVE IS THE ANSWER. ROCK LOVE. WAIT FOR ME. CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS?. RICH GIRL. I SAW THE LIGHT. KISS ON MY LIST. HOT FUN IN THE SUMMERTIME (LAST 6 W/ H AND O).
Note:One of my old-timer friends comes through with a killer recording of the Todd tunes at this opening concert of the tour. It’s cool to compare this to say, Indy (last tour) to hear the differences. The DAT sound really comes alive (heavy bass again) when the band comes out on train. Some very small talk is present early but the sound is great and I must say consistent with Joel's sound in the past. Btw, he has been using DAT for a long time now and was one of the first dudes to do really super sounding Todd shows in the 90s and before. Thanks to Joel- the Hall & Oates tunes have a little more crowd noise behind them. As for the performance, it was opening night...so the bugs were being worked out but honestly, it is way better than an opening show that were used to with Todd and a band...particularly of interest is the inclusion of Hammer, Todd tells the audience after a fairly warm reception (after Parallel Lines), "…thanks for indulging me with my most obscure material...” (Huh?)...maybe to a H and O crowd.....rock love is the best for comparison to Indy...it is almost pedestrian-very medium tempo...you can tell the band was trying to get used to the chord changes and pace, the flubs are there but not too many-Todd’s gtr is delayed in spots and is not that loud but all in all, this was good for an opening show. Thank you again, Mr. K...~ Tony
8/11/02 COLUMBIA MARYLAND MERRIWEATHER POST PAVILION (W/HALL & OATES) SOURCE ONE (AUDIENCE MINI-DISC BY MARC LINOVITZ) 43:22
Date Added:8/15/2002
Track List:LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. CLICHE'. HIT ME LIKE A TRAIN. IM LOOKING AT YOU BUT IM TALKING TO MYSELF.BUFFALO GRASS. PARALLEL LINES. HELLO ITS ME. LOVE IS THE ANSWER. ROCK LOVE
Note:Mr. Linovitz delivers a fine sounding mini-disc recording at the outdoor shed. I'm Looking At You missing for almost 20 years. Great 3/4 Hello It's Me that gets great response. Parallel Lines is the Night Music/Broadway version/Todd does come out again later in the night w/ Hall & Oates for encores are not included- HOWEVER this is a great recording and a fine document-good recordings and good sound systems help this one-another typical and great job by Marc.~ Tony
8/11/02 COLUMBIA MARYLAND MERRIWEATHER POST PAVILION W/HALL & OATES (COMPLETE SHOW) SOURCE TWO (AUDIENCE MINI-DISC RICHARD SEITER)
Track List:CD ONE: LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. CLICHE. HIT ME LIKE A TRAIN. IM LOOKING AT YOU BUT IM TALKING TO MYSELF. BUFFALO GRASS. PARALLEL LINES. HELLO ITS ME. LOVE IS THE ANSWER. ROCK LOVE. (OUT OF SEQUENCE-TR SINGING W/ H AND O) WAIT FOR ME. CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS?. RICH GIRL. I SAW THE LIGHT. KISS ON MY LIST. HOT FUN IN THE SUMMERTIME. CD TWO: (H AND O ONLY) ADULT EDUCATION. OUT OF TOUCH. SAY IT ISNT SO. DO IT FOR LOVE. SHES GONE. COLOR OF LOVE. ONE ON ONE. EVERYTIME YOU GO AWAY. SARA SMILE. I CANT GO FOR THAT. MANEATER
Note:Richard Seiter checks in with this complete show from the Meriwether ‘Shell’. Todd sound is decent but it is distant compared to Mark L’s. There is some yap but not too much considering the venue...good idea so those who wish to get the Todd tunes can get the single CD...this was a great show and super crowd response...~ Tony
8/17/02 WILMINGTON DELAWARE KAHUNAVILLE AUDIENCE 71:17
Date Added:8/23/2002
Track List:LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. BANG ON THE ACOUSTIC GUITAR DAILY (AC GTR VER). HIT ME LIKE A TRAIN. IM LOOKING AT YOU BUT IM TALKING TO MYSELF. BUFFALO GRASS. PARALLEL LINES (UAI). HELLO ITS ME (6/8). LOVE IS THE ANSWER. ROCK LOVE. (REMAINING ENOCRE TUNES WITH H+O): WAIT FOR ME. CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS?. RICH GIRL. I SAW THE LIGHT. KISS ON MY LIST. HOT FUN IN THE SUMMER TIME.
Note:Faithful friend Sara checks in with this document from Delaware. The sound of course is carried by T-Bone- very bass heavy has been backed off some. This is the complete Todd tunes. You can hear some talk-but it’s only in spots. Listening to this show had me thinking: odd that Bang On The Drum was w/ acoustic gtr...instead of Cliche'...gtr not loud for Todd on solos on his set...T Bone carries the sound on his big Fender...Parallel Lines performance is magical-better than Meriwether..Todd mentions the Nazz before Hello It's Me- mentions that this started it all off-I guess he’s embracing the white Philly soul trip here-that cool- Beatles to this-just another facet-next he’ll strap on a gtr - that’s why we love him..Rock Love is also superior--Todd does a preacher act a la Love My Life at the end of HIM. Hall’s mic on the dueling encores is much louder than Todd’s-it seems the best dueling takes place on H & O tunes-Darryl just sounds harmonically not as facile with CWSBF and ISTL-probably b/c of the passing chords (btw-where was Change Myself?)-the most inventive Todd gets is with (don’t laugh) Kiss On My List...yes there are claps and stuff here but you can still thoroughly enjoy this one...it’s so odd they picked a Sly Stone tune to close the Philly show-no doubt it was Todd and H & O on the stage, but the crowd heard echoes from Thom Bell, Gamble-Huff, Stylistics, Luther, O jays, Spinners, Chi-Lites, Marvin, Stevie and everyone else who was on the scene to create the 70s soul thing. Something about this reminds me of the Hello People tours -maybe it’s the thick harmonies but hurry up and catch it before he changes hats again! Thanks Sara.~ Tony
8/26/02 DETROIT DTE ENERGY THEATER AUDIENCE JACK GORDON (HALL & OATES MEGA-FAN) 56:52/36:25
Date Added:10/17/2002
Track List:CD ONE: ADULT EDUCATION. OUT OF TOUCH. SAY IT ISNT SO. DO IT FOR LOVE. SHES GONE. COLOR OF LOVE. ONE ON ONE. EVERTIME YOU GO AWAY. SARA SMILE (INCOMPLETE) CD TWO: I CANT GO FOR THAT (CUTS IN). MANEATER. WAIT FOR ME. CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS?. RICH GIRL. I SAW THE LIGHT. KISS ON MY LIST. HOT FUN IN THE SUMMERTIME.
Note:One of the connections that came from this little get together was Mr. Gordon, who runs a site on Hall and Oates...he passed this recording-probably cassette- of the H & O set- no Todd set recorded but he is on the encores...to be fair, the sound is very average compared to what else is out there...for completists...~ Tony Thanks Mr. G....a real nice fellow...~ Tony
9/1/02 INDIANAPOLIS IN RIB AMERICA FESTIVAL AUDIENCE 69:24/60:00
Date Added:9/3/2002
Track List:CD ONE: (TR) INTRO/LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. CLICHE'. HIT ME LIKE A TRAIN. IM LOOKING AT YOU BUT IM TALKING TO MYSELF. BUFFALO GRASS. PARALLEL LINES. HELLO ITS ME. LOVE IS THE ANSWER. ROCK LOVE. (H+O) ADULT EDUCATION. OUT OF TOUCH. SAY IT ISNT SO. ILL DO IT FOR LOVE. CD TWP: SHES GONE. COLOR OF LOVE. ONE ON ONE. SARA SMILE. I CANT GO FOR THAT. MANEATER. RICH GIRL. I SAW THE LIGHT. KISS ON MY LIST. BAND INTROS. HOT FUN IN THE SUMMERTIME.
Note:Here is the first complete shows that’s in… is the last date of the tour-many challenges to record this thing-the insane loud lick drum that drills a hole in your chest-the booming low Fender end of T Bone’s bass, the very high level of Darryl’s mic-which is left wide open to catch all his high low vol vocs-these things together make it tough when you are already at an outside festival with tens of thousands in attendance. All of that being said, this is real nice-the bass drum has that sound but doesn’t really distract-as far as the show- the act before was Dicky Betts great southern-who played guitar solos on every Allman Bros tune that went on for eternity-I like jam bands but this one was over the top of the top-I have nothing against them -but I’ve never heard a band play more notes and say less...ahhh..What an inappropriate opening act, but the hardcores left and we filled in...I was in the 10th row center...Todd set was inspired but dogged by road weary...it showed on LCM but from Cliché’ onward it was a different story...Cliche’ was superb, Train was real hot-great gtr playing at the end...superb Looking At You-esp the adlib vocs at the end...Buffalo Grass which was greeted with indifference. In DC was a decided crowd pleaser… here...strange...Todd went nuts on Rock Love- great performance....by the way the show was slightly truncated-missed-Every time You Go Away, Wait For Me, and CWSBF-to tell the truth, I thought Darryl really kinda fucked up CWSBF so I’m not that sorry to see it go....again there is some distortion with the festival bullet bass drum and a few moments of trouble but not mostly all good..-All in all a very listenable full document--not a sdbd, but a strong solid keeper from Indy land. Todd was going nuts with the guitarist of H&O and T-Bone-just hamming it up...ended up with Todd kicking strings, knocking over and tackling the guitarist-they all had a lot of fun and seemed to me to be still close at the end of it all..Super…In short, this sounds real nice but has that kick drum sound that couldn’t be avoided...ESSENTIAL~ Tony
9/16/02 OSAKA JAPAN BLUE NOTE (LATE SHOW) AUDIENCE (HIROSHI) 62:09/32:02
Date Added:10/23/2002
Track List:CD ONE: HAMMER IN MY HEART. YOUVE GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY. IVE JUST SEEN A FACE. THERE GOES MY INSPIRATION. IT WOULDNT HAVE MADE ANY DIFFERENCE. TOO FAR GONE. HELLO ITS ME (SOLO PIANO). LOVE IN ACTION. I SAW THE LIGHT (JG). FIDELITY (JG). NEVER NEVER LAND (JG). LUCKY GUY (JG). MATED (JG). LADY MADONNA (JG). THE WHEEL. CD TWO: HAWKING. CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS.
Note:"Hello, jazz fans!" Todd greets us...well my bud came thru fab here from a tour that had Todd and Jesse playing exclusively at these venues- here is an early show from this small club tour in Japan which is very similar to the Channel Surfing tour fall of ‘98 we had back here. The shows were 2 a night, very short but very impromptu-I wish I was there. The piano version of HIM does have a major train wreck but that’s the most damage of the night- most of the piano tunes are performed better than the Channel Surfing tour (prob Todd's piano low point-see those shows)-it's definitely better than those days...Todd sounds tired, but happy to be in Japan for what sounds to be a very intimate crowd- he sings well and has a number of tunes to toss off. If performance is what you want Fukuoka is probably a better, but this recording is very nice as well- you need them both-for a tour like this-the sets are remarkably different (no real new tunes but enough variety to make us all happy)...the real highlight is a spine chilling performance with Jesse on Dream Goes On...it is slightly marred in one place by what sounds to be tape speed for a split second but really doesn’t mar it much...Really nice. Thanks to you Brother Hiroshi for another gem.~ Tony
9/20/02 KASIM SULTAN ALEXANDRIA VA (DC) ZIGS BAR MARK LINOVITZ/BARRY BESEIGEL SDBD 39:47/42:42
Date Added:10/8/2002
Track List:CD ONE: INTRO. DONT HOLD ME BACK. LOVE IS A DANGEROUS THING. BACK ON THE STREET. BEFORE SHE WAS GONE. SACRIFICE. THE ONE SURE THING. THERE GOES MY INSPIRATION. CD TWO: WHERE IS MY SOUL?. SET ME FREE. LOVE ALONE. HEAVEN HELP THE CHILD. GOODBYE. THIS MUST BE LOVE. ONE WORLD. ACROSS THE UNIVERSE.
Note:Another great new board of Kasim in his first show for his new album-carrying a keyboard player as well as the gtr dude from last tour-better than 2/27/02-really puts a lot of passion into some of these songs and displays what some to be a superior sentiment than Todd on the ones he covers here......aw what the hell you need 'em both-they’re sdbd! Superb job again by our own “DC Mafia”...everybody owes these guys a ton for these...for sure...Thanks…fabulous all around...~ Tony
9/22/02 KASIM SULTON PHILADELPHIA TIN ANGEL AUDIENCE (SARA KRITZER) 51:08/34:17

Track List:CD ONE: DONT HOLD ME BACK. SOMETIMES LOVE IS A DANGEROUS THING. BACK ON THE STREET. BEFORE SHE WAS GONE. THE ONE SURE THING. SACRIFICE. THERE GOES MY INSPIRATION. SET ME FREE. CD TWO: LOVE ALONE. HEAVEN HELP THE CHILD. THIS MUST BE LOVE. BROWN SUGAR. LIBERTINE. ONE WORLD (CUTS). GOODBYE. REMEMBER
Note:Kasim with Doug Kennedy-captured well by Sara K. in Philly. This one has Libertine, Brown Sugar (trib. to Mick, for whom Kaz played on his short stint solo tour)...nice audie here-for those who saw this and completists; you’ll want it...it is a nice set...but as you know there are sdbs out there of other shows...the list here makes this attractive..Keep going, my man...he should have been doing this a long time ago...check out Kaz's new CD...this new official product has "Love Reunion" (circa 77) as a hidden bonus track..Thanks for this one to the faithful Sara K!
9/25/02 FUKUOKA JAPAN BLUE NOTE (LATE SHOW) JAPANESE BOOT CD? (FROM HIROSHI) 40:29/43:28
Date Added:11/3/2002
Track List:CD ONE: INTRO. LOVE OF THE COMMON MAN. CLICHE'. IVE JUST SEEN A FACE. THERE GOES MY INSPIRATION. TINY DEMONS (ACOUSTIC). TOO FAR GONE. COMPASSION. CAN WE STILL BE FRIENDS. BANG ON THE UKE DAILY. CD TWO: I SAW THE LIGHT. INFLUENZA. MATED. LUCKY GUY. BORN TO SYNTHESIZE. FIDELITY. A DREAM GOES ON FOREVER. HELLO ITS ME (PIANO)
Note:"...Remember, people, 6 shows gets you champagne..." This is a Japanese boot CD that sounds very good, and has a happy and great performance. Most notable is the jazzy remake of BTS from Tiki/Half Twisted ,but what makes this so cool is- that Todd and Jesse both are playing gtrs...Jesse cuts way loose on the solo and it is really nice-makes you ache for that Half Twisted band..The quote at the start (above) was for Martha who was evidently at 6 shows and got personal waiter service from Todd before he started the show. Nice gesture from him to recognize the hardcores-which we all know he does...I just realized that what makes this different from Channel is the absence of electric gtrs. All acoustic and real warm and fun-again this is one to get- I know it's short, but that was the idea. I hope Todd/Jesse (probably Marylou as well) had fun in the orient-sounds like they feel very comfortable here and the performances have a few mistakes but no real clunkers-thanks Hiroshi as usual. I got this extra bit of info on the scene from the man: The girls of 5 got this champagne. I know all of girls. But remember, $70 per each show without foods and drink in dinner club. Almost all people must pay around $100 (foods and tax) per one show. Todd knew this situation. Japanese show is worth seeing but no one can see the show below $50 here recently. It's sad. And security is so tight, especially in Tokyo. Our fan club member (who we all know attended), saw that several people were asked by security to stop tapes at every show!~ Tony
