I got a request for this song. I've always liked it, so even though it's not a TR composition, I decided to learn it. It's a nice, well-crafted ballad with nice, conventional chord changes. It makes me wonder about Todd's relationship with Moogy Klingman. From what I've heard of Moogie's stuff (this, "Lady Face", "Friends") he strikes me as a sort of old-fashioned pop songwriter. As a pianist, he doesn't seem very "rock 'n roll", but I like the pop/MOR/balladeer styles he brings to the r&r table - it combines in a tasty way with Todd's harder songs, and he covers Todd's keyboard-oriented stuff beautifully. His style reminds me of Todd's, but with more chops. I wonder if he sort-of mentored Todd in his piano playing and/or certain aspect of his songwriting... or maybe it was vice versa. What's happened to Moogy? I seem to remember reading a comment from Todd about Moogy that sounded more or less a dis. Was there a falling out? Over what? Whatever, I really like Moogie's playing on AWATS, Todd, and my tape of the Roxy BttB show... and this song. The letter to the left of the slash in chord names like "A/D" refers to a triad, and the letter to the right refers to the bass note only. The number directly to the left of the chord diagram is the position on the guitar neck (or closest fret). "x" along the top means mute or deaden that string, "o" means let it ring open. The song remains in 4/4 time throughout. If you see any mistakes, or have any corrections or alternate ways of playing any of my tabs, I'd love to hear from you.
