"I Don't Want To Tie You Down" From the album "A Wizard, a True Star" (1973) Transcribed by Brian Canfield There's not a whole lot to this song, structure wise, since it's so short. The verse is the following: Csus2/F G/C Csus2/GG/C (G-C-D) Sometimes it's hard..etc. [Until you get the last line of the verse, which is:] Csus2/F G/C Csus2/GEm7 ...would be the worst mistake Then, the chorus: C/AC/A C/A Oh baby, (E-G-C) G/D G/DC/DF/D F/G C/G C/E G/E I dont want to tie you down.. That's it. I've arranged this more for piano players, especially in the chorus, with all those numerous and subtle chord changes. In nearly all of Todd's keyboard based songs, they're all over the place! Typically, when the vocal melody changes to a different note, a different chord will be formed underneath it. Thus, it greatly helps to know all your major/minor triads, left and right, including first nd second inversions of those triads. Just some beginners advice (I am still a beginner myself).
